Toyin Aimakhu explains why she changed her last name

Just before the year finally runs out, Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu decided to drop her last name and replace it with Abraham.

The 32-year-old actress announced the change of name on her official Instagram page on Wednesday night, describing it as a “family decision”.

“I will like to be officially addressed as Toyin Abraham henceforth,” she posted on her Instagram account.

The actress followed up the decision by reflecting the change on all her social media handles.

The year 2016 has been a tough year for the light in complexion actress. The #SaveMayowa humanitarian cause she championed in August ended up in a scandal. Prior to that, Toyin Abraham’s romance with popular film producer, Seun Egbegbe ended up in a nasty breakup.

In November, Mr Egbegbe was involved in a messy iPhone theft scandal at the Computer Village in Lagos. Most media organisations who reported the incident feasted on Toyin’s former relationship with Egbegbe to promote the story.
