Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has vowed never to exchange pleasantries with her colleague Funke Akindele again after being snubbed in public.

The incident occurred during the premiere of actress Iyabo Ojo’s movie on Sunday night, where Funke allegedly ignored Toyin’s greeting despite being tapped and addressed by name.

In a viral video circulating online, Toyin was heard saying “Aunty Funke, good evening ma.” In response, Funke looked away and completely ignored her, leaving Toyin embarrassed. Toyin eventually walked away from the scene.

The development has sparked controversy on social media, with many users condemning Funke’s attitude.

Reacting to the video under an Instagram post, Toyin disclosed that she has unfollowed Funke and vowed never to greet her again. In a now-deleted comment, she wrote, “I have unfollowed her, God forbid bad things. If I ever greet her again that means I’m a bastard.”

Fellow Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing also reacted to the saga on her Instagram story, noting that life is too short for drama. “For this life, wey short? Omo!” she wrote. In another post, she said, “The tension is high. Take cover oo!!!”

Media personality Do2dtun admonished the public to know whom to greet and whom to avoid before leaving their homes. He noted that the industry is full of fake love, which is why one needs to know their real friends. Funke’s protégé, Tobi Makinde, shared a cryptic post that simply read “Tor,” apparently referring to the incident.

The reignited beef came as a surprise, as late last year, Funke and Toyin shared a sweet moment at Toke Makinwa’s daughter’s dedication. Toyin was seen kneeling to greet Funke at the event, and she accepted her greetings.

At Ginger’s movie premiere also last year, the two were captured sharing a sweet moment before being interrupted by Kiekie, and they were also seen dancing together at the event.

For years, there was rivalry between the two screen goddesses as they have both dominated the TV screen. However, they settled their differences when Toyin celebrated Funke on her birthday, and Funke reciprocated. Toyin had also attended Funke’s movie premiere, further shutting down rumours of animosity between the box office queens.

Toyin previously penned an open letter to Funke speaking about how fan wars caused their unnecessary feud and congratulated her for achieving the one billion landmark in the cinema. Funke reacted to the post, wishing Toyin all the best.
