Tottenham Hotspur secured a resounding 4-1 victory against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Contrary to expectations, the hosts dominated the game, with Richarlison netting two goals and Son Heung-min leading the charge.

The match marked a turnaround for Spurs, ending their five-match winless streak in the Premier League. Son, operating on the left flank, showcased his brilliance, contributing significantly to Tottenham’s success.

He set up Destiny Udogie for the opening goal on the 26th minute, displaying his agility against former teammate Kieran Trippier.

Son’s prowess continued as he left Trippier trailing once again, providing an exquisite cutback for Richarlison to secure the second goal 12 minutes later.

Despite Newcastle’s positive starts in both halves, they were unable to withstand Tottenham’s attacking prowess.

Richarlison added a third goal on the 60th minute, completing his brace from close range, while Son sealed the victory with a penalty on the 85th minute.

Joelinton managed a late consolation goal in added time for Newcastle. Despite their effort, injuries took a toll on Eddie Howe’s team, leaving them in seventh place with 26 points, four behind Spurs.

Tottenham, who had previously struggled to maintain leads, secured a convincing win, maintaining their fifth position in the table with 30 points, trailing league leaders Liverpool by seven points.

The victory marked a positive turn for Spurs after a challenging period, providing a boost to their standing in the Premier League.
