Tottenham Hotspur forward Randal Kolo Muani was involved in a motorway car crash on Tuesday while driving to the airport for his team’s Champions League trip to Germany.

The 27-year-old French international escaped unhurt after the front tyre of his black Ferrari Purosangue SUV blew out on the M25 in Hertfordshire. His teammate, Wilson Odobert, who was following behind, pulled over to check on him. Both players were later scheduled to join the squad after the rest of the team had flown to Frankfurt.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank confirmed the incident, stating, “Both are fine. Unfortunately, they were both involved in a minor accident… It was a tyre blowing up… They will fly out later and I fully expect both to be available.”

Images from the scene showed the damaged front end of the high-performance vehicle, which can be valued at over £400,000.

The crash compounds a difficult period for Tottenham, who are already dealing with a mounting injury crisis. Defender Pedro Porro has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury, while centre-back Micky van de Ven did not travel to Germany due to a minor issue.

Despite the setbacks, Spurs can secure a place in the Champions League last 16 with a victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday night. The team has already guaranteed qualification for the knockout stages.
