Tottenham nears agreement for Genoa’s Dragusin in €25M deal

Published

Tottenham is on the verge of finalizing an agreement for Genoa’s defender Radu Dragusin, with the proposed deal amounting to approximately 25 million euros, including add-ons as par BBC.

As part of this potential deal, defender Djed Spence, recently back at Spurs following an unsuccessful loan stint at Leeds United, may embark on a loan move to Genoa for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old Romanian Dragusin has been a consistent presence for Genoa in Serie A, featuring in all 22 matches this season. Bayern Munich has also expressed interest in the talented defender.

Having risen through the ranks at Juventus and subsequently sealing a permanent move to Genoa last summer after a loan spell, Dragusin’s prowess has attracted attention from top European clubs.

Tottenham’s pursuit of Dragusin stems from the need to reinforce their defensive line, especially with injuries plaguing Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven this season.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has improvised by deploying full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal in central defense due to the defensive setbacks.

In the intricate web of transfer talks, there is speculation about Eric Dier’s potential departure, with Bayern Munich reportedly eyeing the 29-year-old English international.

Dier, who has 49 caps for England, has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup under Postecoglou, and the Bundesliga champions appear keen on acquiring his services.

Meanwhile, Djed Spence’s loan spell at Leeds United was prematurely terminated, and he has returned to Tottenham after featuring in only seven Championship appearances during his season-long loan stint.
