Tottenham can finish above Liverpool, Arsenal – Gary Neville
Former Manchester United player, Gary Neville has expressed optimism about Tottenham’s Premier League prospects, suggesting they can surpass Liverpool and Arsenal if they maintain player fitness.
Following a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, Spurs are level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal and five points behind leaders Liverpool at the midway point of the season.
Despite missing key players such as Heung-Min Son, Pape Sarr, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Giovani Lo Celso, Dejan Kulusevski, and Ben Davies at Old Trafford, manager Ange Postecoglou’s side outperformed and caught the attention of Neville.
He believes Tottenham, with a fully fit squad, have the potential to secure a top-four finish and even challenge for second or third place.
Neville expressed his confidence, stating, “If they keep their players fit, they are a certainty to finish in the top four, and I think they can get to second and third. With those players back, and if they can get through these next few weeks, I genuinely think they can be better than Arsenal and Liverpool this season.”
He also suggested that focusing solely on the league, especially after a possible exit from the FA Cup, could benefit Tottenham’s campaign.
However, Neville emphasized the importance of winning a trophy, acknowledging the challenges that arise when teams have an intense season and are involved in European competitions.
