Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham defeated Arsenal in the North-London derby to go top of the Premier League table on Sunday night.
Heung Ming Son and Harry Kane teamed up twice to assist each other as Arsenal were caught napping twice in their own half.
The home side took the lead in the 13th minute after an assist from Kane saw Son superbly curl the ball past Arsenal’s Brand Leno from 30 yards out following a quick counter-attack.
Arsenal dominated in possession with over 50 crosses but failed to register much shots on target and they paid dearly for it in the 45+1 minute.
Arsenal were left opened after midfielder Thomas Partey limped off the pick in the run of play as Arsenal drove forward but their futile attack backfired into another quick counter-attack.
Son paced through with himself and Kane facing three Arsenal defenders and opted to pass the ball to the Englishman who smashed it off the bar into the net from the flank.
Kane became the North-London derby highest goal scorer with 11 goals, one ahead of former Arsenal star, Emmanuel Adebayor.
