Pink: Pregnant fan goes into labour at Australian concert
During her Sydney, Australia performance on Saturday, Pink had to pause her concert for the second time in six months as a fan went into labor during the show.
The Grammy-winning singer, known as Alecia Beth Moore offstage, was informed about the expectant mother in the mosh pit during her performance of “Our Song.”
In a TikTok video captured during the concert, Pink addressed the crowd, humorously asking, “Is it Alecia or Alex being born right now?”
The 44-year-old singer continued, “I feel like we shouldn’t be looking; everyone give her privacy. She didn’t just have the baby, right? Is the baby here? No? Ok.”
Pink, a mother of two herself, congratulated the mother-to-be as medics wheeled her out. Expressing surprise at the timing, Pink said, “Wow, ‘Our Song,’ that was the one that did it. Wouldn’t have called that one. I thought it would have been like ‘Get the Party Started’ or ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again.'”
Taking to Instagram after the concert, Pink acknowledged the unique turn of events, stating, “We helped bring a baby into the world.”
This marks the second time Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour has been interrupted by a fan going into labor.
The first incident occurred at her July 31 show at Fenway Park in Boston when pregnant concertgoer Angela Mercer went into labor at the start of the performance.
Decked out in their concert outfits, Mercer and her companions made their way to the hospital amid concert traffic.
A statement from Brigham and Women’s Hospital on August 9 mentioned, “where Angela later delivered her son in the Brigham’s NICU.” In honor of Pink, Mercer named her baby boy Aycen Hart after the singer.
