PDP NWC, chairs, stakeholders meet over party challenges

Published

The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party is currently in a pivotal meeting with the party’s 36 state chairmen and stakeholders in Abuja. The gathering aims to address the current state of the party and strategize on tackling upcoming challenges.

Chairing the meeting is Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, who is leading discussions on various issues affecting the party’s progress.

The meeting follows a directive issued by the NWC on December 6, 2023, urging all party members involved in intra-party litigations to withdraw their cases immediately. This directive came after a comprehensive review of the party’s situation.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, clarified the rationale behind the directive, stating, “The NWC urges all party leaders, critical stakeholders, and members across the country to remain united and continue to promote the values for which the PDP is known as a truly democratic party.”

Furthermore, the NWC discussed and approved the report of the Establishment Committee for the appointment of a substantive Director-General of the People’s Democratic Institute (PDI), showcasing the party’s commitment to organizational development and strengthening its institutional framework.
