Orientation camps have no COVID-19 positive corps member – NYSC
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that its orientation camps have COVID-19 positive corps member.
NYSC spokesperson, Adenike Adeyemi, said that tests were carried out before the corp members were allowed into the camps.
She said that those that tested positive for COVID-19 were immediately handed over to the Nigerian Center for Disease Control, NCDC.
“The true position is that no Corps Member in any of the NYSC camps is COVID-19 positive. The NYSC is in collaboration with Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), and the Centre maintains a very strong presence in all the NYSC camps nationwide.
“All Prospective Corps Members were tested for COVID-19 before being admitted into the camps. Those that tested positive were handed over to the NCDC for treatment and management. The public is hereby assured that the 37 Camps of the Scheme are safe, as COVID-19- 19 safety protocols are strictly adhered to,” Adenike said.
