Mutiu Adepoju reacts to Super Eagles 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone
Football icon, Mutiu Adepoju has reacted to the Super Eagles’ 4-4 draw against Sierra Leone in Friday’s African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Gernot Rohr’s Eagles have left Nigerians fuming after squandering a four-goal lead, allowing the visitors to steal the headlines in the eight-goal thriller.
Speaking after the game, Adepoju, on Twitter, refused to condemn the team’s performance rather leaving them with words of encouragement.
The 44-year-old argued that the Sierra Leone game serves as a lesson to the lads that no game is won until the final whistle.
He, however, maintained positivity ahead of the return fixture in Sierra Leone by saying that the lads will bounce back.
“Every game comes with its lessons and this game against Sierra Leone is one of them. A match is not won until the final whistle is blown. Fellow Nigerians, I appeal to you that we keep supporting our dear Super Eagles and I strongly believe they will bounce back in the return leg.”
