Lagos govt announces traffic diversion for Opebi link bridge
For the next four weeks, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic on Thomas Ajufo Road, near the Sheraton Link Bridge, for reconstruction work.
This was announced by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement on Sunday.
He said that the diversion, which was part of the Opebi Link Bridge project, would begin on October 16.
Osiyemi said that motorists and other road users would have access to alternative routes during the diversion period.
”Motorists heading towards Opebi Road will be allowed to use one side of the Opebi Road Carriageway as the construction requires the second lane to be closed.
”Also, motorists heading towards Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way from Allen Avenue/Toyin Street will make use of Toyin Street via Ola Ayinde Street to connect Ikeja Under Bridge and continue their journeys,” he said.
He urged motorists to follow traffic signs and the instructions of relevant traffic management authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow.
