Eid-el-Fitr: AMAC boss calls for prayers to end COVID-19
Mr. Abdullahi Candido, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has called on Muslims to pray for an end to the Coronavirus pandemic ravaging the country and the world, as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
Candido gave the call in his Sallah message to residents of the area council on Sunday in Abuja.
“I want to congratulate Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan and I want them to celebrate this Eid-el-Fitr with the spirit of sacrifice, love, and patience, which is expected of all faithful.
“I also want to urge them to be prayerful as we are being ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic, I believe that it is only prayers that can solve 90 percent of this problem,” he said.
The chairman also urged residents of the area council to comply with the government’s directives on physical distancing and observance of basic rules on personal hygiene.
He also counseled residents to ensure that they put on their face masks and obey all guidelines as outlined by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)
