Former presidential candidate, Adamu Garba, has expressed optimism that his social media platform, Crowwe, would return to Google play store soon.

WUZUPNIGERIA reported that the app which currently boasts of 31,245 users was removed from Play store on Saturday.
Reports suggested that the app was yanked following complaints from Nigerians but Garba debunked it, claiming that it was taken down on his orders.

However, with the app reportedly set to return to the store, Garba, in a chat with The PUNCH revealed that Crowwe has applied for a licence from the National Broadcasting Commission in line with the Federal Government’s new drive to register all social media platforms in the country.

Speaking on Thursday, the Chief Executive Officer of IPI, said, “Crowwe now has 31,245 users with about 2, 270 business accounts. We have written a letter to the NBC applying for a licence in line with the Federal Government’s announcement but we have not yet received any response. If they don’t respond by Friday, we will send a second letter.”

He noted that the return of the app to Google app store has been hit by some setbacks.

Garba said, “There are some lapses. It consumes a lot of data based on user complaints so we decided to take up some opportunities to do that. We have edited. We will upload it by Saturday or so.”
