Following internet reactions to the inclusion of popular cross dresser, Idris Bobrisky Okuneye in a media event, at least two of the speakers at the event have pulled out.
The Seminar scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 27 was themed: Rights and Responsibility, Engagement unusual: unconventional use of new media. However, on Wednesday, a day after the event flier surfaced online, Ahmad Bashir and Shubomi Plumptre have pulled out. Their reasons? The inclusion of Bobrisky.
While Ahmad Bashir, special assistant to the president on social media, only made his rejection known in a passing tweet, Alder Consulting issued a full statement to the effect.
However, many other people have come to the defence of Bobrisky saying Bashir and Alder Consultant should not have left that way.
Elnathan John, a popular Nigerian author is among those who think its a free world and Bobrisky should be allowed to have his say. He was harsh with his condemnation to the point of using the ‘F’ word.
You pulled out of a conference because of Bobrisky? You hateful fucking prick. Bobrisky is twice the man you will ever be. He lives HIS life https://t.co/cvvXXLZFmr

Ayo Sogunro, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist directed his own wrath at Alder consulting.
“Alder has a right to reject an invite. But once they included Bobrisky’s person in the mix, they also put their own character into debate,” he tweeted.
He added that the firms reason for pulling out constitutes prejudice.
Yes. That statement is what you call “prejudice”. It’s a judgement. And an unnecessary one for a professional outfit open to the public. https://t.co/OJcEgAUrgC

One takeout from the whole matter appears to be that, pull out or not, Bobrisky’s fame keeps getting wider.
As of Tuesday, he had not joined Twitter, but he currently has more than 200 followers, barely 24 hours after joining.
