Toke Makinwa advises against the urge to give explanation
Nigerian Radio personality, Toke Makinwa, has advised her fans to resist the urge to give explanation in any given situation.
The 36-year-old author made the disclosure to her 1million followers on her verified Twitter handle on Monday morning.
According to Makinwa, the people that truly love you do not require a reason to do so while those who do not have you in their heart-shaped zone would never believe you no matter the explanation.
“Resist the urge to explain. Those who love you don’t need a reason to love you and those who don’t will never believe you anyway, catch yourself before you start to ro ejo unnecessarily, save your peace. Let whoever think whatever, just keep doing you,” She tweetd.

Her comment has since attracted some contractdicting responses as well as reached common grounds with some of her followers.
Accoridng to @SimoJandie, Toke’s tweet has an element of truth but gives people room to behave badly. He said, “Elements of truth here, but somewhat irresponsible advice. This is giving people leeway to behave badly under the guise “take me for who I am if you love me”. No. “If you love me, get better at your self, because that’s what I would do for you bcz I love you.”
Another follower, @tijani_zulaihat, opined that resisting the urge to give explanation should not be applicable to your loved ones but strangers.
