Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has shared how she helped her son, Jamil Balogun, meet popular American streamer IShowSpeed during his visit to Nigeria, describing the moment as one driven by love and sacrifice.
The singer narrated the experience in a post shared online on Wednesday, revealing that Jamil reached out to her while she was away in Davos, insisting she could make the meeting happen.
According to Tiwa, her son confidently appealed to her, calling her “mommy” and expressing certainty that she would arrange the encounter despite being out of the country.
“Please mommy, I know you can make me meet IShowSpeed and I’m all the way in Davos,” she quoted Jamil as saying.
Tiwa Savage described the process as stressful but emotional, noting that parenting often demands going the extra mile.
“Parenting will stress you, but love will always make you come through,” she wrote.
The Afrobeats star later shared a photo of Jamil smiling beside IShowSpeed, with the caption suggesting she would always find a way to make things happen for her son.
She also expressed gratitude to those who helped facilitate the meeting, thanking Shank Comics, Man Like Scoop, Olakunbi, Bizzle Osikoya and Bold and Big Event for their support.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is currently on his Speed Does Africa tour, which includes several countries across the continent. His Nigeria visit on January 21, 2026, drew massive public attention as fans followed his movements across Lagos through live streams.
The YouTube and Twitch star also marked two major milestones during his Lagos stop, celebrating his 21st birthday and hitting 50 million subscribers on YouTube.
