Tiwa Savage petitions police over alleged threat by Davido
Popular Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage has contacted Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayode Adegoke Mustapha, detailing an alleged threat made against her by Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido.
The unfolding drama commenced when the two artists mutually unfollowed each other on Instagram over the weekend, sparking speculation that Davido’s decision was linked to Tiwa’s friendship with his estranged baby mama, Sophia Momodu, with whom he is currently estranged.
Tensions escalated when Tiwa Savage’s former spouse, Teebillz, expressed his intention to teach Davido a lesson for what he perceived as “disrespect” towards his family.
In a letter posted on social media dated January 9 and addressed to the commissioner, Tiwa recounted that the conflict stemmed from Davido’s displeasure over her Instagram story posts on December 23, featuring herself and Sophia. According to Tiwa, Davido accused her through her manager of intentionally provoking him and using “malicious and derogatory words” against her.
The mother of one asserted that Davido expressed his frustration with her maintaining a relationship with Sophia despite their differences.
In excerpts from the letter, Tiwa disclosed, “The events of the day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connection asking me what I did to Mr. David Adeleke that he is upset that I choose to maintain a relationship with Imaed’s mother who he’s having issues with and also painting the exchange to look like I was the aggressor. He also told our mutual connections to warn me to ‘be careful in Lagos because he is going to f*ck me up.”
Tiwa concluded by holding Davido accountable for any harm that may befall her or her family, urging the authorities to take note of the situation.
