A founding member of the legendary Jackson 5 and brother of the late Michael Jackson, Toto Jackson,has passed away at the age of 70.
His death was confirmed by his sons in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, though the cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Tito rose to fame as part of the Jackson 5, alongside his brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, performing timeless hits such as ABC and I Want You Back.
The Jackson family is now mourning the loss of yet another musical icon following Michael’s death in 2009.
Family friend and former manager Steve Manning confirmed Tito’s passing to Entertainment Tonight.
Tito’s three sons, Taj, Taryll, and TJ Jackson, who formed the R&B/pop group 3T in the 1990s, shared their grief on social media. “We are shocked, saddened, and heartbroken,” they wrote.
“Our father was an incredible man who cared deeply for everyone.”
The heartfelt tribute continued: “He will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached: ‘Love One Another.’ We love you, Pops.”
