Former House of Representatives member, Muhammad Kazaure, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will suffer a swift defeat in the 2027 general election—provided the process is free and fair.
In a video released by AIT via the 𝕏 platform on Wednesday, Kazaure asserted that the president would lose at the polls even before the end of election day.
“With a free and fair election, I can assure you by 12 noon he will have lost the 2027 election,” he declared.
The former lawmaker also expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening economic situation and mounting national debt, lamenting the financial hardship being faced by citizens.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress has fired back at recent remarks made by the newly-appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who claimed there would be “no vacancy in Aso Rock” in 2027.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described the comment as presumptuous and undemocratic.
He maintained that the Nigerian presidency is not a hereditary position but one that must be earned and renewed through performance and the consent of the people.
According to Abdullahi, the “no vacancy” remark reflects a sense of entitlement that ignores the fundamental democratic right of Nigerians to elect their leaders.
The ADC cautioned the ruling party against making statements that could cast doubt on the integrity of future elections or suggest that citizens’ votes may not matter.
