President Bola Tinubu is set to visit Benue State on Wednesday, adjusting his earlier schedule that had slated a trip to Kaduna.
The decision follows a surge in violent attacks that have destabilized communities across Benue.
The Presidency stated that the change in plans underscores the President’s “renewed commitment to restoring peace” in the crisis-stricken state, which has endured repeated outbreaks of deadly conflict in recent months.
During the visit, Tinubu will engage with a broad array of local stakeholders, including traditional rulers, political and religious leaders, community representatives, and youth groups.
These meetings aim to forge a united front in addressing the lingering insecurity.
A town hall meeting is also on the agenda, designed to foster open dialogue and encourage collaborative efforts toward lasting peace in the region.
