Tinubu to attend Uzodimma’s second-term inauguration
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to attend the inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term in Owerri, Imo State today.
The event, scheduled at Dan Anyiam Stadium, is anticipated to feature the inauguration of projects, including the revamped Airport Road transformed from a dualized two-lane to a four-lane highway with street lights.
Governor Uzodimma’s victory in all 27 local government areas in the November 11 poll led to his re-election.
The state capital, Owerri, is buzzing with celebrations from jubilant All Progress Congress members. Adequate security measures have been implemented for a seamless handover.
The inauguration, overseen by a committee led by Senator Chris Anyanwu and Chief Cosmas Iwu, will commence with a thanksgiving mass, followed by a state banquet at the Government House.
The Information and Strategy Commissioner, Declan Emelumba, revealed that dignitaries from various sectors have been invited, with party supporters mobilized across the 27 local government areas.
Emelumba emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “It will be a momentous occasion as Imo people eagerly anticipate the ceremony. We are diligently addressing crowd control, as our supporters from all 27 local government areas are enthusiastic about attending.”
