President Bola Tinubu will attend the 2025 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit in Abuja as the Special Guest of Honour, according to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.

The summit, which will run from November 11 to 13, aims to connect Nigerians living abroad with investment opportunities across key sectors of the country’s economy.

Speaking during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the event had continued to grow since it began in 2018, attracting both local and international investors.

“The Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit is now one of the most important platforms linking our diaspora community with opportunities back home,” she said. “We are honoured that His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, will once again serve as the Special Guest of Honour.”

Dabiri-Erewa said the 2025 edition would focus on boosting regional and national development through diaspora-led investments.

She explained that the last summit, held in November 2024, recorded over 1,500 participants, including 236 investors, 1,197 business owners, and 168 government officials.

According to her, “About 56 investment pitches were presented during the last edition, covering eight key sectors. These pitches attracted roughly 168 investment deals valued at about ₦673 million.”

She added that the summit has also made a wider impact on the local economy, contributing over ₦500 million through services and materials provided by small businesses and creatives during previous events.

This year’s theme, “Fast-Tracking Regional and National Development by Mobilising Diaspora Investment,” reflects NiDCOM’s goal of using diaspora resources to support Nigeria’s economic growth.

Dabiri-Erewa said the summit would highlight opportunities in sectors such as finance, fintech, ICT, agriculture, healthcare, real estate, sports, entertainment, manufacturing, and energy.

“We are determined to build on the momentum from previous years,” she said. “We expect top business leaders, policy advocates, and creative professionals who believe in Nigeria’s potential to participate.”
