President Bola Tinubu has issued the immediate suspension of the National Coordinator and Chief Executive of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, Mrs. Halima Shehu.
According to Channels Television, the president has directed her replacement.
This action comes just three months after Mrs. Halima Shehu’s confirmation for the appointment by the Senate.
She had previously served as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where she played a crucial role in the digitalization of the program.
Shehu, a former banker, had worked at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the same institution.
No official statement has been released at this time of report regarding the reasons behind the suspension.
