Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has urged critics of his public dancing to reconsider their stance, asserting that personal expression through dance should not overshadow his political performance.

Speaking at a public engagement, Governor Adeleke expressed frustration over continued criticism directed at his frequent public dances.

He argued that such remarks are unfair, especially when his work as a public official is being overshadowed by personal expressions of joy.

Adeleke highlighted that he is not alone in this form of expression, pointing out that other prominent figures, including the President and fellow governors, also dance publicly without facing the same backlash.

In his remarks, he stated that there is no legislation barring governors or other public officials from dancing, so long as their actions are harmless.

In a widely circulated video on X, Adeleke can be heard saying, “Babajide Sanwo-olu is dancing. Everybody is dancing. Even Baba Bola Tinubu is dancing. So, no law that says just because you are a governor, you can’t dance.”

“Stop judging me just because I choose to express myself through dancing. It is my joy, my freedom, and an essential part of who I am. If it brings me happiness and harms no one, then there is no reason it should be condemned.”
