The Federal Government has terminated the appointments of all directors of Aviation less than 24 hours following the removal of heads of aviation agencies.
The spokesperson for the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi, in a statement on Thursday announced the directive for the dismissed directors to promptly hand over to the most senior officers in their respective directorates.
“Following the change in the leadership of the Aviation and Aerospace Development Agencies’ CEOs and MDs aimed to reposition the Aviation industry and ensure safety and efficient air travel experience by Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr. President, I am directed to inform all DIRECTORS of the following agencies that they have been relieved of their appointments forthwith and should hand over to the most senior officer in their various directorates with immediate effect,” the statement read.Notably, board secretaries and legal advisers of these agencies are unaffected by the directive.
The recent changes according to the spokesman were part of a broader effort to reposition the aviation sector and enhance safety and efficiency in air travel, aligning with the Renewed Hope agenda.
Recall that Wuzup Nigeria reported that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, appointed acting and substantive heads to various agencies, including the suspension of the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Musa Nuhu.
