Tinubu praises military, launches 2025 emblem campaign

President Bola Tinubu launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem Appeal on Tuesday at the Council Chamber in Abuja, recognizing the vital role of the military in defending Nigeria’s unity, stability, and peace.

The emblem appeal is held each year to prepare for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, honoring the sacrifices made by soldiers.

During the event, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the military for its commitment to securing the nation. He said, “We owe a debt of gratitude to the gallant troops who have dedicated themselves to keeping Nigeria safe.”

The President emphasized that peace and development are impossible without security and called for a safe environment where all Nigerians can live without fear.

As a show of support, George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, announced a donation of ₦500 million on behalf of the Executive arm.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio pledged ₦200 million on behalf of the National Assembly, while the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, announced a donation of ₦50 million on behalf of the Service Chiefs and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetoken.
