President Bola Tinubu has pledged to rescue the abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi State and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.

According to the statement, Tinubu reiterated that securing every Nigerian—particularly schoolchildren—remains a solemn duty of the State.

He condemned the attack on the students and the killing of school officials who were carrying out their responsibilities.

The President also expressed deep concern and solidarity with the families of the abducted students from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

“We share in their pain and are firmly committed to bringing the girls home safely.

“Our security and intelligence agencies have been issued clear directives to locate, rescue, and safely return the students, and to ensure that the perpetrators face justice.

“The Federal Government will not relent until this objective is achieved. We assure Nigerians that strengthening internal security remains a top priority.”

He added that the government is recalibrating military, policing, and intelligence capabilities to prevent future attacks and improve rapid response to emerging threats.

“Nigeria is also reinforcing cooperation with regional partners through ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to secure our borders and disrupt terrorist and criminal networks.

“We urge the public to remain calm and confident,” Tinubu said.
