A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged Nigerians not to lose faith in President Bola Tinubu’s administration despite ongoing economic challenges.

Speaking to journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye reassured the public that President Tinubu, as a true democrat, would fulfill his electoral promises for the prosperity of Nigerians.

While acknowledging the discomfort caused by various economic policies such as fuel subsidy removal and naira unification, Oyintiloye emphasized that these measures were laying a strong foundation for Nigeria’s future prosperity.

He urged Nigerians to remain resilient, stating, “There is hope for a better and prosperous future.”

Acknowledging the current economic hardship, Oyintiloye stressed that it was not deliberate, attributing it to the efforts to strengthen the economy. He emphasized Tinubu’s good intentions and commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians.

“For us to enjoy a prosperous Nigeria, we must be ready to sacrifice a little and that is what is currently happening.

“Mr President meant well for Nigerians. He will not gain anything deliberately by inflicting pain on Nigerians.

“All the economic policies put in place by the president that are causing the pains are actually meant to strengthen our economy.

“Don’t give up on the president. He will do better and he will continue to improve on the welfare of Nigerians,” he said.

Encouraging patience, Oyintiloye noted that the Tinubu administration inherited a challenging economy and emphasized the need for various interventions to revitalize it.

He outlined priority areas for revitalization, including quality agricultural practices, a robust marketing system, improved health and education sectors, enhanced electricity supply, and the fight against corruption.

Oyintiloye highlighted government initiatives to strengthen the economy, such as investing in industries, promoting local production, and developing the agricultural value chain to reduce dependence on imports and crude oil.

While expressing optimism about Nigeria’s economic future, Oyintiloye called on opposition leaders to avoid divisive rhetoric that could polarize the country further.
