Controversial Nigerian cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has described stirred a wave of reactions on social media following his scathing remarks about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a video that has since gone viral, the self-styled “Indaboski” described Tinubu as “a businessman rather than a president,” igniting heated debate across various platforms.
The outspoken preacher questioned the leadership approach of the current administration, arguing that a true leader is defined by their dedication to national progress and the well-being of their people — a standard he insists the present government has failed to meet.
“I don’t know who’s calling Tinubu president. Tinubu is just a businessman. If you want to talk about a president, call Trump, Ibrahim Traoré, Xi Jinping, and many others, they are all true leaders,” Odumeje stated.
He went further to praise leaders such as former U.S. President Donald Trump, Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Traoré, and China’s Xi Jinping, claiming they exemplify genuine leadership focused on national transformation and citizen empowerment.
“Leaders are people who develop their country so that their children and citizens can benefit, but the ones we have in Nigeria are busy acquiring wealth for their own children,” he said.
Odumeje also lamented what he described as a deteriorating state of the nation, accusing Nigeria’s political class of prioritizing personal enrichment over national development. He concluded his remarks with a stinging rebuke of the country’s global image, stating that Nigeria can no longer claim the title of “Giant of Africa.”
According to him, “The ones we have in Nigeria are busy acquiring wealth for their own children… Nigeria is now a giant of f@ilure, not a Giant of Africa.”
The cleric’s comments have intensified public discourse around governance, leadership priorities, and the nation’s trajectory under the Tinubu administration.
