Tinubu irks Nigerians with ‘we no dey trust Igbo people’ comment [Video]

Wife of former Governor of Lagos state, Senator Remi Tinubu seems to have broken the hornets’ nest with her election day comment about Igbo people living in Lagos.

The lawmaker representing Lagos Central at the Senate was seen in a video shared online by Punch newspaper telling an Igbo voter at her polling unit that Igbo people can no longer be trusted.

WuzupNaija reports that the former Lagos first lady after casting her votes in the governorship and state assembly elections at Polling Unit 034, Falomo Police Barracks IV, Ikoyi, Lagos started exchanging banters with voters.

While engaging voters she walked up to a disabled man sitting by the roadside and whimsically told him

“the way una (Igbo people) do us that day e good? Now we are one.”

When the man replied the Senator that he voted President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 election, Tinubu said

“How I go know say you vote for Buhari… Because Igbo people we no dey trust una again.”

The footage which has gone viral on social media has generated a lot of reactions from social media users expressing their disappointment in the Senator’s comment about Igbo people.

Some went as far as questioning her ordination as an Assistant Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
