Tinubu hails senate’s confirmation of General Musa as Defence Minister

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his approval of the Senate’s confirmation of General Christopher Musa as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence.

In a statement personally signed and shared on his X handle on Thursday, Tinubu commended the Senate for its swift approval of Musa’s appointment.

The President emphasized that the appointment is timely, considering the nation’s current security challenges.

“Two days ago, I transmitted the name of General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff and a fine gentleman, to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Federal Minister of Defence.

“I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday. His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.

Politics Nigeria recalls that the Senate confirmed General Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, on Wednesday as the new Minister of Defence.
