President Bola Tinubu will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, after ending his vacation earlier than planned.
His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties,” Onanuga said.
Tinubu left Nigeria on September 4 for France as part of his annual holiday. He had planned to split the period between France and the United Kingdom.
During his stay in Paris, the President held a private luncheon with French leader Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. Both leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation and agreed to deepen ties for mutual prosperity and global stability.
This latest trip marked Tinubu’s seventh visit to Paris since assuming office in May 2023, and his first since attending the BRICS Summit in Brazil and the TICAD9 conference in Japan earlier this year.
Between January and September 2025, the President has made 15 international trips across 11 countries. These included summits, bilateral engagements, presidential inaugurations, and working holidays.
In January, he attended the inauguration of Ghana’s President John Mahama in Accra and later joined the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit in the UAE. The following months saw him travel to Tanzania, Ethiopia, Vatican City, Saint Lucia, Brazil, and Japan for different high-level events.
Tinubu also addressed CARICOM leaders in Castries, met Pope Leo XIV in Rome, and pitched Nigeria’s investment opportunities to Japanese multinationals in Yokohama.
With his early return from vacation, the President is expected to resume official duties immediately in Abuja.
