Tinubu consoled Katsina gov over mother’s death

President Bola Tinubu has sent his condolences to the Governor of Katsina State, Dr. Dikko Radda, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Baribari.

Hajiya Safara’u, who was 93 years old, passed away on Saturday night.

In a statement on Sunday, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described her as a selfless woman who raised many leaders who have excelled in different fields.

“The President says Hajiya Safara’u has left behind a legacy of integrity and community service that has permeated far and near,” the statement read.

Tinubu also prayed for Almighty Allah to grant her Jannatul Firdaus and to give her family the strength to bear the loss.

The death was earlier announced by the Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed.

His statement highlighted Hajiya Safara’u’s influence, noting that her children include Alhaji Kabir Umar-Radda, the Village Head of Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umar-Radda, the former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

“A true Fulani matriarch, Hajiya Safara’u leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond her immediate family,” the statement said.

“Her values of integrity, perseverance, and community service continue to inspire all who knew her.”
