President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, a prominent Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization.
In a statement released by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday, Tinubu praised the successful leadership transition within the group and urged the new leadership to continue the good work of their predecessors.
The President acknowledged the importance of socio-cultural organizations like Ohanaeze Ndigbo in fostering unity and promoting dialogue among Nigeria’s diverse ethnic groups.
“The President recognises the critical role of socio-cultural organisations in nation-building; hence, his commitment to promoting dialogue among our ethnic nationalities,” Onanuga stated.
Tinubu also wished Azuta-Mbata success, describing his new position as an “onerous yet noble and lofty task.”
Senator Azuta-Mbata, a former senator who represented Rivers East in the Senate from 1999 to 2007, was elected as the 13th President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide during a meeting held in Enugu on Friday.
