President Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited Enugu State on Saturday and commissioned several major projects initiated by Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, aimed at improving education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure across the state.

Among the projects inaugurated were 30 smart green schools, part of a larger plan to construct 260 such schools across all wards in the state.

Tinubu also opened 60 fully equipped primary healthcare centres, which are part of an ongoing effort to build 260 healthcare facilities throughout Enugu.

Additionally, the President unveiled 90 newly completed urban roads in Enugu City, which are expected to improve transportation and ease traffic congestion.

Security was a key focus of the event, with Tinubu commissioning 150 patrol vehicles fitted with artificial intelligence-embedded surveillance cameras. He also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre, designed to enhance security operations in the state. Another significant project was the Enugu International Conference Centre, a modern multi-auditorium facility for hosting both local and international events.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu commended the Governor for his commitment to the state’s development. He described the projects as a testament to the governor’s dedication to improving the well-being of Enugu’s residents.

The President was accompanied by notable dignitaries, including Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi. However, the governors of neighboring states—Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra, and Francis Nwifiru of Ebonyi—were noticeably absent. It is unclear if they sent representatives to the event.

Mbah expressed gratitude to the President for visiting and emphasized his administration’s focus on sustainable development.

He stated, “These projects are a step toward achieving a brighter future for our state. Our people deserve access to quality education, healthcare, modern infrastructure, and security.”
