Published

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has granted approval for the appointment of Ambassador Desmond Akawor, who currently serves as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, as a Federal Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission.

The announcement was made by Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement issued on Thursday.

Ngelale clarified that the appointment is contingent upon the confirmation of the Senate.
The decision to appoint Akawor arose due to the unfortunate passing of the immediate past RMAFC Federal Commissioner from Rivers State, Hon. Asondu Wenah Temple, earlier in the month.

In the statement, Ngelale conveyed the President’s charge to the newly appointed Federal Commissioner, urging him to leverage his extensive experience in various levels of government for the comprehensive reform of processes.
