Tinubu appoints Ribadu, Alake, others as Special Advisers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment at least of eight Special Advisers about two weeks after his swearing-in ceremony in Abuja, the nation’s capital, on May 29, 2023.

The new appointment was contained in a statement released on Thursday by the Director of Information, State House, Abiodun Oladunjoye.

WuzupNigeria reports that the appointment of the pioneer Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu as Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Security, ends weeks of speculations about the appointment.

The new appointments are Dele Alake as Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communications and Strategy; Yau Darazo as Special Adviser on Political and Intergovernmental Affairs; Wale Edun as Special Adviser on Monetary Policies; and Olu Verheijen as Special Adviser on Energy.

Other appointees included Zacchaeus Adedeji as Special Adviser on Revenue; Nuhu Ribadu as Special Adviser on Security; John Ugochukwu Uwajumogu as Special Adviser on Industry, Trade and Investment; and Salma Ibrahim Anas as Special Adviser on Health.

This publication also reports that the president also appointed the immediate-past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff on June 2.

Alongside Gbajabiamila, Tinubu also appointed Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.

In a meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum, the president also named a former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, to serve as Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
