President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Ikye Orikpo as the new chairman of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.
The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, Dr. Orikpo, who hails from Delta State, is among the latest board chairpersons appointed by the president.
In the statement, Onanuga also addressed corrections regarding earlier appointments of board chairpersons.
“Hon. Duro Meseko from Kogi State is the chairman of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute. What appears to be a duplication has been corrected,” Onanuga clarified.
He further explained, “Hon. Yahaya Bello Wurno from Sokoto, not Ambassador Wurno, is the Chairman of Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority.”
Dr. Orikpo’s appointment comes as part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in key institutions across the country.
