Three people have died and several others were badly injured in a road crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said on Wednesday.
LASTMA, in a statement posted on its official X page, said the accident happened on Tuesday near the Secretariat axis while heading toward the Otedola Bridge.
The agency confirmed that three vehicles were involved in the collision.
The statement read, “Three vehicles were involved in the collision, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries. LASAMBUS personnel are on the scene, providing medical attention to the injured victims.”
Emergency workers from the Lagos State Ambulance Service continued treatment on-site, while LASTMA officers and the Nigerian Police were present to control traffic and maintain order around the scene.
LASTMA added that efforts were ongoing to clear the wreckage and reopen the road to normal traffic.
Motorists were urged to drive carefully when approaching the area to avoid further incidents.
