A student of Federal University of Technology [FUTO] Owerri, Imo State has reportedly drowned while swimming in a river on Wednesday.
It was gathered that the deceased, identified as Kester Gabriel, died inside the Otammiri river in Ihiagwa area of the state.
Kester, a 500 level Material and Metallurgical Engineering student, was said to have returned to school on Sunday, after his Industrial Training.
Three days later he drowned.

His body has since been recovered and deposited in a mortuary.
Kester’s sister, one Ifunanya Eze, had taken to Facebook to share the sad incident.
She wrote,
“My heart is heavy oo
I don’t want to say o I wish this was a joke you will just wake and call my sis, my handsome with the brain ,Chijioke I will miss you o after 21years of living with u now I can’t find no more my heart bleeds
Death you have done worst y did you choose my brother a final year student of engineering dept futo oooo ,this is too much for me to bear oh death my beloved brother RIP o I can’t believe I just said that o I love you but God our Creator loves you more rest in peace till we meet again you continue to be my heart”
