Some Nigerians on social media have condemned a viral video showing a Falconet kneeling before the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, as she receives money believed to be her entitlement from him.

The viral video which was shared on various social media platforms has courted controversy as many tagged the act as inhumane.

In the video, the under 20 footballer could be seen on her knees carefully counting her money in front of Dalung and some officials.

At some point, she removed some of the money and returned the balance to Dalung who asked her to give the money to someone she trusts to help her reconfirm.

Her team members and other officials looked on as she knelt and handed the money to another person to help confirm.

While some felt she knelt down on their own volition, others criticised the minister for allowing her to “kneel to collect her money”.

Some also questioned the method of payment and others questioned why it was the minister handing the athletes the money.

How in the world is this even right? How would a government official paid to serve the people become a tyrant at this level. Are they slaves for serving their country?

I think that situation with Dalung could have been handled better. He could just have handed the exact cash to her. For me telling her to count it seems like he intentionally overpaid for a BIG MANISM show. It was clearly a #ShowOff That’s my problem @LagosTalks913 #SportsZone
