Two men were on Tuesday brought before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly jointly slapping and beating a man to death.
Innocent Samuel, 21, and Sunday Momoh, 18, appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Mr O. O. Olatunji, on a two-count of conspiracy and murder.
Their plea was not taken as they have been remanded at the Ikoyi Prison pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Earlier, Police Prosecutor Cousin Adams told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug. 27 at Christ Embassy Healing School, Ikeja.
Adams alleged that the duo had jointly punched and slapped the deceased, Olatunji Odusan, into unconsciousness.
“The deceased started vomiting blood before slipping into unconsciousness and eventually died,’’ he said.
Adams noted that the offences contravened Sections 223 and 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015, which stipulates a death sentence for offenders.
