Nigerians have reacted after seeing gospel musician Travis Greene perform at The Experience 2020 with dreadlocks hairstyle like a Yahoo boy.

The hairstyle which is often criticized by many in Nigeria as wayward was worn by Travis Greene to the amazement of Twitter influencer Dr Olufunmilayo.

The doctor wrote: “Travis Greene has dreads. Travis Greene has coloured hair. Travis Greene is wearing chain. He’s performing at The Experience now and we all see him beyond all of that. I hope we extend this love and understanding to Nigerians in our churches and society who dress like this.”

Below are reactions to his tweet.

Actress Kate Henshaw wrote: “He is from abroad so its accepted… Slave mentality exists here.”

@tofem71 wrote: “Well I really hope we truly extend this love and understanding among ourselves! Because right now, some old people will already start saying he is already doing yahoo!”

@trendinglyke wrote: “He performing in #TheExperience2020 doesn’t make him a Christian or born again. What is not worth it should not be considered in the presence of God. There’s no proper dressing for a Christian but God has given us a conscience to examine ourselves. Let’s be guided please.”

@ebutupromise wrote: “Let’s look at it from this perspective; Samuel almost made a mistake at Jesse’s, but God notified him that He doesn’t really consider a Man’s outward appearance. In today’s world we judge from afar without proper fact-checks. That’s why the Police brutality won’t stop soon.”

No love to ourselves as Christians, love is the most important thing and how clean your heart it, no jokes Davido or all this popstars you think are sinners show more love than people that go to church everyday…During the lockdown I learned how to pray nobody taught me how to.”
