Sahara Reporters had claimed that Melaye did not graduate from the Ahmedu Bello University, Zaria, in a series of tweets.

According to Wikipedia, Melaye was born in the city of Kano and was a Student union leader at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in his university days before leading the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Melaye is one Nigerian Senator that has had a fair share of controversy surrounding him. Hopefully this would be the last.
