Tears flowed on Thursday as 300 people killed in the mudslide that swept a small town close to the country’s capital, Freetown were buried en mass.

President Ernest Bai Koroma attended a multi-faith memorial service at the burial site in the city of Waterloo.

Some 600 people are still thought to be missing while more than 400 people are known to have died, BBC reported.

More than 3,000 people have been rendered homeless and the condition has been declared as a humanitarian emergency.
There is also growing concern about the risk to public health from water-borne diseases.
