The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a temporary power outage in several parts of Minna, Niger State, to carry out maintenance on a power transformer.
In a statement on Tuesday, TCN said the maintenance is being performed on the 30MVA transformer at the Minna Transmission Substation. The work began at 9:30 a.m. and is scheduled to end by 4:00 p.m.
“The exercise commenced at 9:30 am and will continue until 4:00 pm,” the company stated, explaining that it is “to ensure the optimal performance of the transformer.”
During this period, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to supply electricity to customers in areas including Tunga, Shiroro Area, Police Secondary School, Air Force Base, Maikunkele, Tudun Fulani, Beji, Chanchaga, Tungan Goro, and several other districts.
TCN apologized for the inconvenience and assured consumers that “power supply will be restored immediately after the exercise is completed.”
