Global pop star Taylor Swift is officially engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce, marking a new chapter in their highly publicized romance.
Swift made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday, sharing a carousel of photos showing Kelce on one knee in a flower-filled garden.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned the post, which gained over a million likes within minutes.
The engagement ring, designed by Kindred Lubeck, features an Old Mine Brilliant cut diamond.
The news comes just weeks after Swift appeared on the “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason, where she revealed details about her upcoming album “The Life of a Showgirl,” set for release on October 3.
The couple’s relationship began in July 2023 when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour. On his podcast, Kelce mentioned wanting to give her a friendship bracelet, sparking interest among fans. By September of that year, Swift was spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs game, sitting alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna, as dating rumors intensified.
Their relationship became more public in February 2024 when Swift attended Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, where the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Cameras caught the pair sharing a moment on the field after the game. “Thank you for coming, baby,” Kelce said, as Swift replied, “Oh, I cannot believe that.”
Since then, the couple has been seen together at multiple events, from the “Saturday Night Live” premiere in October 2023 to casual outings during Kelce’s offseason earlier this summer.
Swift’s post on Tuesday showed the couple smiling and embracing in a dreamy garden setting, with one close-up shot highlighting the diamond ring that has already become a trending topic among her fans, known as Swifties.
The engagement has set social media abuzz, with fans celebrating the milestone as the couple prepares for what promises to be one of the most talked-about weddings in entertainment and sports.
