American pop star Taylor Swift has denied claims that she turned down an offer to perform at the 2026 Super Bowl half-time show in California.

The singer cleared the air during an interview on NBC’s The Tonight Show with host Jimmy Fallon after reports suggested she rejected the slot due to disagreements over ownership rights of the performance footage.

When Fallon asked if the rumor was true, Swift replied, “No,” before explaining that there had never been an official offer.

“Jay-Z has always been very good to me,” she said, referring to the rapper whose company, Roc Nation, produces the Super Bowl half-time show. “Our teams are really close. They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about the Super Bowl?’ That’s not an official offer or a conference room conversation. It’s just, ‘How does she feel about it in general?’”

Fans had expected Swift to headline the show following the release of her 12th studio album, *The Life of a Showgirl*. However, in September, Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny was confirmed as the main act for Super Bowl LX.

Swift, who is engaged to Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, said her focus during the football season is always on supporting him.

“We’re always able to tell Jay-Z the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field,” she said. “The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field.”

“Can you imagine if he’s out there every week doing this very dangerous, high-intensity sport and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my choreography should be?’” she added with a laugh.

“This has nothing to do with Travis. He would love for me to do it. I am just too locked in.”

Taylor Swift has never performed at the Super Bowl half-time show, a stage previously graced by stars such as Rihanna, Usher, and Kendrick Lamar.
