Several members of the Taraba State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party — along with others who had recently joined the PDP — have defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The lawmakers said their decision was driven by what they described as persistent internal crises within the PDP at the national level, as well as a desire to “align with the centre for federal presence in Taraba.”
Their move comes ahead of Governor Agbu Kefas’ anticipated defection to the APC, scheduled for Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
With this development, all 24 members of the Taraba State House of Assembly are now aligned with the APC.
